Sofia is situated in the very heart of the Balkan Peninsula. Distances to the neighboring capitals  are relatively short - by car, one can reach them within hours. You can have your breakfast in Sofia, and your lunch can be  in Belgrade, Bucharest, Istanbul, Salonika or Skopje, and dine in Athens or in Zagreb. Besides this Sofia is very easy to reach from every airport in Europe. Most of the biggest cities on the continent have direct air connections with Sofia.


The city of over a million of residents is located in the southern outskirts of the fertile Sofia Plain, at 550 m above the sea level, resting to the south against the Vitosha Mountain (2290m above the sea level). Vitosha is a mountain with abundant flora -several natural reserves are situated here. Nearby is  the Boyana church, an important cultural and historic heritage, with its Renaissance wall-paintings dating from 13th century under the UNESCO protection.

Sofia is not only a center of an ancient culture, but a town, offering various entertainment : concerts, exhibitions, sport activities, restaurants with exceptional cuisine, night bars, casinos etc.
